How does Camber AI work completely offline?
Camber AI utilizes lightweight Language Models (such as Qwen 3 0.6B) executing locally directly on your smartphone's Neural Engine. No cloud server connection, subscription, or API key is required — allowing you to converse with AI even in airplane mode.
Does Camber require an active internet connection?
No. Camber is built from the ground up to be 100% offline. The entire 36,000+ word database, definitions, IPA pronunciations, grammar notes, and local AI model run locally on your device.
How does audio pronunciation work without internet?
Camber utilizes your mobile device’s native text-to-speech engine (AVFoundation on iOS, TextToSpeech on Android) to synthesize pronunciation locally with zero data usage.
Is Camber available for both iOS and Android?
Yes! Camber is available on the Apple App Store for iOS devices and on the Google Play Store for Android smartphones and tablets.
How do I save words into custom lists?
When viewing any word entry, tap the bookmark icon to add it to your Favorites or any custom list you create. You can organize your lists with custom color badges from the Study tab.
How do Flashcards and Quizzes work?
From the Study tab, select a word list to review using 3D flip flashcards. You can mark words as "Mastered" or "Review again" to track your progress. You can also launch two quiz modes: "Type from Definition" or "Listen & Spell".
How do I change themes or adjust font size?
Tap the Settings icon in the app navigation. You can select from 10 visual themes (including Light, Dark, and true-black OLED mode) and use the text slider to resize app text with a live preview.
Is my search history, AI chat, or custom list backed up or tracked?
Camber collects zero user data and has no analytics trackers. Your AI chats, custom lists, and search history are stored strictly on your local device.
